Butter Beans Kurma ( Gravy )

This is one my family favorites. If you are a roti lover, then this one is for you!!! This Butter Beans Kurma  tastes awesome with roti. I have never been able to get hold of these butter beans in Coimbatore, so whenever my SIL visits us these butter beans are sure on the list. They taste awesome, you can even use them in puli kolumbu. My daughters are a big fan of these. Neha will take one butter bean for each chapathi piece ( it will be so cute to watch :) ) This kurma goes well with poori too.

NOTES:
1) Make sure there is enough water before pressure cooking to get the gravy consistency.
2) 3 whistles will be perfect, it will be soft and yet retain its shape.
3) You can replace half of chilli powder with two green chilli as well for a different flavor.

  17. I usually make butter beans with Sambhar powder and that is very different from this one. I learnt it from one of my tam Brahm friend, but I never thought I could make it like this too. Pinned it for my reference, lovely recipe :)
